Facilities Operative – Renfrewshire Council

Renfrewshire Council is seeking enthusiastic and skilled Facilities Operatives to deliver a high‑quality Soft Facilities Management service in schools across Renfrewshire. The successful candidate will manage site‑level delivery of cleaning, catering, school crossing patrol, security and other related services.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the effective delivery of all aspects of the Soft FM service at the school site.
  • Ensure building cleaning, catering, school crossing patrol and security services meet quality standards.
  • Work flexible hours, operating 16:00‑19:00 and any other shift as required.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, providing customer‑focused support.
  • Participate in team activities and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous experience in Soft FM or a similar environment is desirable.
  • Willingness to undertake training and work towards a REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate (or already possess it).
  • Literacy, numeracy and IT skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office is desirable.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues.
  • Must be available for Disclosure Scotland check (level depends on duties).

Working Conditions

Term Time, 15 hours per week (16.00‑19.00). The role is part‑time and includes shift work during term dates.
