The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 € per year.
Renfrewshire Council are looking to recruit enthusiastic and skilled early learning and childcare officers for our general supply pool. Appointable candidates will be required to work on a temporary basis covering short or long-term requirements within early learning and childcare establishments across the full Council area. Shifts required will be between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Cover may be within our term time classes or our 52-week classes or centres. Please note that being appointed to the Supply Register does not guarantee any minimum hours per week; pay is calculated based on actual hours worked.
The main duties of the post are to:
- contribute to the provision of a safe, caring and stimulating nursery environment for all children;
- contribute and implement a relevant curriculum in line with national and local guidance;
- plan, record, implement and evaluate a suitable programme of activities;
- maintain and record children’s assessment progress;
- promote parental participation.
You must hold a relevant practice qualification in early learning and childcare such as HNC in Childhood practice at SCQF level 7 or SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF level 7 or equivalent as defined by SSSC. It is essential you have experience of working or training in an early learning and childcare setting, have an awareness of assessment and documentation of children’s learning in line with national and local guidance and be able to demonstrate an ability to plan and deliver a relevant and inclusive curriculum. You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of child development and have the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
If not already registered with SSSC as a Practitioner of Day Care of Children Service, successful candidates will be required to do so. The registration process must commence within three months of being added to the supply register and you must be fully registered within six months.
If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
