This programme will not only significantly enhance the Council’s existing housing stock and deliver new-build homes, it will also contribute to the wider transformation of Renfrewshire as a place, playing a central role in economic and social recovery while creating more attractive places to live.

You will work within the Newbuild Housing Team, focusing primarily on the delivery of the new-build programme, while also supporting the Housing Regeneration and Development Team in delivering the wider investment programme. As Project Manager for Council new-build developments, you will oversee the work of design teams, external consultants and contractors, ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, within budget, and in line with programme timescales. Drawing on industry and sector innovation and best practice, you will ensure that the planning, design, and delivery of these new homes meet the Council’s requirements and wider policy objectives on climate change targets, energy efficiency and minimising fuel poverty, accessibility, safety and security, minimising long-term maintenance costs etc.

It is essential that you have a relevant degree or equivalent level professional qualification. You will have relevant project management experience, ideally with experience of managing affordable housing newbuild/regeneration projects, with a proven track record of achievement in relevant areas of work. You will have commercial awareness, experience of working with consultants and contractors on construction projects, and experience of working with partners in the private and public sectors.

You will have effective financial planning and resource management skills and, ideally, knowledge of public sector procurement. You will be able to analyse complex situations and have effective problem-solving and negotiation skills. You will be committed to achieving excellent standards, be able to manage a diverse workload and meet strict deadlines, and work effectively as part of a team.
