You will have individual responsibility for the comfort, security and safety of passengers whilst being transported to and from their homes to the appropriate establishments including general safety whilst the vehicle is in motion, physical assistance, carrying medication for service users and assisting passengers to cross the road.
Possession of a SVQ Level 2 in Social Care is desirable, while the commitment and capacity to achieve this qualification is essential. You must be familiar with the needs of older people and have a genuine interest in their care and support; have the ability to record daily care reports and work split shifts; possess communication listening and literacy skills; and be enthusiastic, motivated and approachable.
The ability to learn new skills to improve clients' care needs and requirements is desirable. If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
