The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

You will provide support on the delivery of individual projects within the Council’s housing investment programme with particular focus on compliance with specification, quality of workmanship, materials and technical standards.

It is essential you have a recognised qualification in the building construction field with a minimum of a City and Guilds (or equivalent) in a relevant building trade (e.g. joinery, masonry, plastering, maintenance).

Previous experience of building and property maintenance and experience as a Clerk of Works on a larger scale investment project is essential.

You must have effective verbal and written communication skills, a knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Regulations relating to buildings and construction work (e.g. Construction (Design & Management), Control of Asbestos, Work at Height), and knowledge of building and construction works, processes, trades and techniques.

You must be customer focused, flexible and have the ability to work on your own initiative.

It is desirable you have knowledge of local authority working conditions and practices and able to demonstrate a range of experiences in this discipline.

You must have knowledge and understanding of Microsoft IT packages.

It is essential that you have a full driving license as you must be able to attend evening meetings.

If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check. The level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
