We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled member of staff to work as part of the Early Years Team; to support early learning and childcare providers within the local authority, voluntary and private sector, early stages of primary and out of school care staff, parents, and children, in relation to day-care and behaviour support.
We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, and has relevant experience working with children and families.
You will be responsible for the operational day-to-day management of the daycare service, including financial management of the daycare budget, developing and implementing training programmes related to behaviour support, and planning and delivering staff development and parental training programmes.
Requirements include a relevant qualification in childcare/education, community education, or equivalent, experience in childcare and education settings, and knowledge of services provided by out-of-school care groups, voluntary and private childcare providers, including childminders, education providers, community groups, and other agencies. Experience working with children and families facing challenging issues is essential.
You must have an understanding of the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001, the role of SSSC, experience applying strategies to support children\’s behaviour, and knowledge of training resources to support staff.
Additional knowledge of parenting programmes and their positive impact, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with professionals across different settings is also required. The ability to motivate and supervise others is essential.
