We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled member of staff to work as part of the Early Years Team; to support early learning and childcare providers within the local authority, voluntary and private sectors, early stages of primary and out-of-school care staff, parents, and children, in relation to daycare and behaviour support.

We seek someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, and has relevant experience working with children and families.

You will be responsible for the operational day-to-day management of the daycare service, including financial management of the daycare budget, developing and implementing training programmes related to behaviour support, and planning and delivering staff development and parental training programmes.

Relevant qualifications in childcare/education, community education, or equivalent, along with experience in childcare and education settings, are required. Knowledge of out-of-school care groups, voluntary and private childcare providers, childminders, education providers, community groups, and other agencies is essential. Experience working with children and families with more challenging issues is also required.

You must have an understanding of the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001 and the role of the SSSC, experience applying strategies to support children\’s behaviour, and knowledge of training resources effective in supporting staff in this area.

Knowledge of parenting programmes and their positive impacts, effective communication skills, and the ability to work cooperatively with various professionals and motivate and supervise others are also essential.
