Based at Robertson Park or any of our satellite depots, you will work as part of a specialist arborist team responsible for conducting tree work operations to the council's tree stock. Therefore, working at height will be essential.

You will be required to wear relevant PPE, conduct risk assessments, and conform to industry best practice and Health and Safety regulations. Personal and public safety will be essential. You will take appropriate measures to mitigate risk and ensure safe working areas.

The post requires driving responsibilities; therefore, a driving licence will be essential as is the ability to safely operate a variety of arborist equipment, tools and machinery. You must have effective communication and interpersonal skills and be prepared to work in inclement weather conditions throughout Renfrewshire. Experience of dealing with the public and business customers will be required.

LANTRA and NPTC certificates across a wide range of Arboricultural Operations are essential. You will be required to rotate across StreetScene Services and depots as required in line with the needs of the service area.

The post is a full-time position working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. You may be required to enlist in an emergency standby rota when required, to ensure the council is able to respond on a 24 hour a day, 365 day a year basis to deal with all out of hours emergency tree work events.

Shortlisted candidates may be required to demonstrate their arboricultural competency in the form of a practical interview. If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
