Advert Assistant Cost Manager You will assist in providing Cost Management/Quantity Surveying services within the Housing Investment team including preparing contract documentation, liaising with contractors, using computerised programmes to prepare bills of quantities, final accounting processing and assisting with cost initiatives on construction programmes. It is essential you have: a degree in quantity surveying; experience of working in a best value construction environment on a wide range of projects; liaising with contractors and preparing contract documentation; knowledge of building contracts; estimating; quantitative analysis; construction techniques and finance. You must be commercially aware, be an effective communicator, with effective interpersonal and IT skills. You will be expected to work without supervision on complex and high value projects. Experience of NEC, NSR and SBCC contracts is essential and open book and target costing would be desirable. Driving Licence and use of own transport is desirable. If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
