Reporting to the Director, Health Promotion, the Manager is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and managing the Healthy Babies Healthy Children and Healthy Growth and Development program which include, Let’s Grow, Nurse Led Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and prenatal education. These programs are designed to promote health and prevent disease in the Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) area, in accordance with the Ontario Public Health Standards. The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, management, and supervision of assigned personnel.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in nursing is required.
  • Masters degree in Public Health, or related field of study is preferred.
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Minimum of three (3) years professional experience in public health or relevant setting combined with progressive supervisory and administrative responsibility.
  • Experience in public health management is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience in the areas of human resources, labour relations, policy development, financial management, as well as quality and risk management considered assets.
  • Knowledge and experience with community liaison, program planning, team building and coalition building are desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Ontario Public Health Standards, program specific content knowledge and public health core competencies.
  • Familiarity with federal, provincial and municipal legislation, regulations and guidelines that have implications for public health.
  • Oral and written proficiency in English is essential. Proficiency in French is an asset.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector checks.
  • Proof that you have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Annual Salary

$109,328 to $125,584 per annum, plus comprehensive benefits package.
