Role Description
The Warehouse Operative is part of the Warehouse Operations team who are responsible for the parts distribution, inventory management and delivery of parts to customers to support the growth of the business. This role reports to the Warehouse Manager and at times will be customer facing.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive deliveries and check against delivery notes
- Pick, pack and dispatch pending sales orders
- Carry out periodical stock checks and reconcile if required
- Ensure regular warehouse housekeeping tasks are carried out
- Updating spreadsheets and production of reports for delivery and stock levels as required
- Contribute to the adherence to the quality management system
- Collect parts from suppliers & deliver parts to customers
- Any other reasonable requests
Essential Requirements
- Be computer literate and comfortable using MS Office – Word and Excel – to an intermediate level
- Have prior experience in a warehousing and distribution role
- Have good standard of Maths and English to standard grade or equivalent
- Must have BOTH Counterbalance and reach truck forklift licenses
- Have excellent attention to detail and diligence in your work
- Be able to work effectively as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate professional communication and behaviour to customers and suppliers
- Have a flexible approach to working as at times you will be required to work unsupervised
- Be able to work pro-actively and take the initiative to solve problems as they arise
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience in an electrical/engineering or maintenance & repair or industrial supplies environment
- First Aid Certificate
- Manual handling certificate
- Experience of lifting, slinging and rigging
