Overview
In this role you manage and deliver projects for the Solar O&M service within RES’s Asset Management and Operations team. You coordinate with O&M, Asset and HSQE specialists to upgrade, repair and remediate solar farms, ensuring safety, quality and budget targets. You’ll lead a multi-disciplinary project plan, manage subcontractors, and drive timely handover to the O&M contractor while supporting broader wind and battery storage work. This position offers growth through RES’s in-house training and cross-functional exposure.

Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end project work from identification to invoicing and warranty claims
- Identify new work sources from inspections and upgrade opportunities
- Forecast and balance long-term resource demand
- Line-manage Site Managers and coach quality improvements
- Develop relationships with subcontractors and oversee site works
- Create and execute a consolidated Project Plan with resources, materials, costs and schedules
- Deliver projects in line with warranties, contracts, RES quality systems and HSQE standards
- React to major plant failures using contingency plans
- Ensure safety, profitability, quality and warranty management within the Project Plan
- Prepare detailed specifications for tendering and lead procurement activities
- Award sub-contracts and finalize programme of works
- Coordinate enabling works and CDM notifications
- Manage sub-contracted works to timescales and budget
- Provide regular status updates to Asset Manager and owner
- Oversee testing, commissioning and CDM Health & Safety documentation
- Handover to incumbent O&M contractor including defect procedures
- Coordinate related Wind and Battery Storage project work
- Identify opportunities to offer RES Construction services
- Identify deployable RES resources for the Project Plan
- Support improvements to Quoting and Invoicing systems
- Collaborate with Procurement/Contracts to optimize sub-contract frameworks
Key requirements
- Knowledge of CDM and Lifting Procedures
- Experience with solar farm construction activities
- Understanding of labour and materials costs in solar industry
- Knowledge of HSE legislation and guidance related to project activities
- Experience managing electrical and civil project work on solar sites
