The Role

  • Own the delivery of analytics and AI products at RES β€” turning complex data into trusted, governed insight consumed by senior leaders and decision-makers across the business.
  • This is a hands-on technical role and leadership role with 15+ years of experience required. Build models, write Python and SQL, apply LLMs and machine learning to business questions, and deliver automation that cuts manual effort and unlocks new insight.
  • Work closely with and lead business stakeholders to understand problems, shape analytical approaches, and land insight in a way that drives action.
  • Lead working groups and present to executive stakeholders with strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Provide leadership and line management to junior staff and federated teams, coaching and developing them while being the global lead for reporting, analytics, and AI.
  • Support teams in moving from manual reporting to governed, AI-enabled analytics.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver reporting, data modelling, and advanced analytics across complex business domains β€” defining, validating, and owning the definitions, metrics, and models that drive decisions.
  • Apply machine learning to real business problems: predictive modelling, classification, segmentation, anomaly detection, and forecasting.
  • Use LLMs and generative AI to build analytical tools, AI-assisted insight products, and intelligent automation β€” including prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
  • Validate all AI and model outputs for accuracy, bias, and reliability before they reach stakeholders.
  • Translate reporting and analytical findings into clear, business-ready insight for senior and executive audiences.
  • Develop comprehensive semantic data models and business intelligence solutions and quality data for consumption by AI tools.
  • Identify and deliver automation opportunities using tools such as Power Platform, Power Automate, or equivalent.
  • Use Python and SQL to clean, model, and analyse data; deliver self-service analytics through governed semantic models and reporting layers.
  • Lead UAT and business validation for analytics outputs and AI products.

  • Extensive experience leading business stakeholders to understand problems, shape analytical approaches, and land insight in a way that drives action.
  • Strategy, planning, and roadmap delivery and implementation to KPI standards.
  • Semantic and dimensional data modelling β€” design comprehensive models from different source systems using state-of-the-art modelling techniques.
  • Data visualisation β€” ability to design clear, accurate, executive-ready outputs using tools such as Power BI or equivalent.
  • Strong Python, modelling, and SQL skills applied in an analytical context.
  • Knowledge in building and applying supervised and unsupervised models to real business problems.
  • Experience with platforms such as Power Platform, Power Automate, or equivalent.
  • Experience applying fairness, explainability, and governance principles to analytical products.
  • Strong communication skills to translate complex data into clear and prioritised requirements and products that drive business decisions.

Your Background

  • Degree in data science, data analytics, or computer science.
  • Hands-on experience delivering extensive reporting, modelling, and advanced analytics work across complex and diverse data domains and multiple source systems at the enterprise level.
  • 10+ years' experience as a technical analyst, delivering advanced analytics and AI solutions with measurable business impact.
  • Proven experience delivering comprehensive semantic and dimensional data models.
  • Extensive experience with the Microsoft Azure platform for reporting, data development, and analytics.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, quality, and responsible AI principles.
  • Track record of working with senior executives to translate complex data into clear and prioritised requirements and products that drive business decisions.
  • Direct experience working with cloud data platforms, specifically Microsoft Azure/Fabric.
  • Relevant certifications in AI/ML, Power BI, or Microsoft Azure is desirable.
