This position will be responsible for supporting the Northern Europe Asset Management business within commercial asset management. Commercial Asset Management is the focus on protecting clients, and their investors' interests by maximising projects net asset value. Enforcing contractual rights, optimising value from the supply chain, tendering and procurement of new agreements, identifying opportunities, and commercial considerations to enhance operations of assets, with the overall goal to increase value (not necessarily export). This role will cover all technologies managed by RES including Solar, Wind and Energy Storage.
Duties will include owner interaction, contract management, supporting complex insurance claims, using and creating tools for the analysis of projects, forecasting performance of assets, and managing continuous improvement. The duties with this role will suit a team player who is flexible and initiative, and able to help implement new systems of working. This position may include travel a couple of times a year within Northern Europe.
Key Accountabilities
- Supporting the Northern Europe asset management business to increase the net asset value of renewable energy assets, which may include Wind, Solar and Energy Storage;
- Providing high quality management of ongoing contracts with our existing suppliers, consultants, and sub-contractors;
- Managing a portfolio of renewable energy project contracts through the contract lifecycle;
- Leading tenders for new services and renewals, including contract negotiations on a variety of different operational contracts, reviewing and drafting terms, and liaising with clients and their respective legal teams;
- Reviewing performance of contracts, including supplier performance calculations and calculations of bonus or liquidated damages;
- Working alongside key stakeholders to resolve commercial issues, including KPIs (including contractual liquidated damages and bonus payments), attending supplier meetings to discuss performance;
- Responsible for management of a client's portfolio of contracts, attending client meetings on a regular basis, reporting on status of portfolio, and providing contract and commercial advice as required;
- Reviewing contractual terms to support and advise asset managers on specific queries, including upgrades, performance, insurance claims, PPA obligations, AMA scope and other ad hoc topics;
- Reviewing physical defects and performance against contract warranties. Drafting and sending notices of defect and nonconformance and following through to completion;
- Supporting the integration and adoption of new projects to ensure they are 'Operations Ready'. Acting as Adoption Lead if required;
- Capturing lessons learnt and participating in and supporting Asset Management Department 'Continuous Improvement' activity;
- Attending internal and external supplier and client meetings, taking minutes and updating documentation;
- Updating and maintaining contract management tools/trackers.
Knowledge
- Strong computer literacy with particular knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office; SharePoint and DocuSign.
- Understanding of the regulatory landscape within Northern Europe.
- Knowledge of subcontracting and tendering processes.
- Knowledge of renewable energy contracts.
- Awareness of the importance of HSQE requirements is an advantage.
- The ability to be highly organised, in order to manage and prioritise multiple tasks, working to tight deadlines.
- A keen attention to detail, specifically when dealing with technical and legal documentation.
Skills

Experience
- Previous commercial and contract management experience preferable.
- Experience in construction, asset management or renewables preferable.

- Managing and resolving disputes between parties.
- Experience of handling insurance claims.
Qualifications
- Any relevant business, contract, management, or renewable qualifications.
- Degree/HND level education preferable but not absolute requirement.
