The Position
RES has been awarded the contract to provide safety systems for the construction and commissioning of the 1.4GW East Anglia 3 (EA3) Wind Farm and associated OFTO assets.
This project requires several 66 kV Senior Authorised Persons (SAPs) to ensure the program\βs safety and efficiency throughout the project\βs duration.
We are offering full-time employment and contracting positions with planned start dates aligned with the contractorβs programme: August 2025, November 2025, and January 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to health and safety requirements and contribute to maintaining and improving safety standards.
- Achieve and maintain Senior Authorised Person status.
- Ensure all work complies with Iberdrola Renewables Offshore Electrical & Mechanical Safety Rules and Renewable System Safety Instructions, including but not limited to:
- Preparing, issuing, and cancelling safety documents.
- Preparing switching schedules.
- Carrying out switching, isolation, and earthing duties.
- Performing pre-energisation inspections.
- Conducting HV switchgear on-site tests.
- Producing and reviewing method statements and risk assessments.
- Developing maintenance plans for HV equipment.
- Maintaining the asset register.
- Managing and executing planned and unplanned maintenance activities on electrical equipment.
- Producing final reports.
β Conduct basic protection testing on HV equipment.
β Troubleshoot and fault-find on Iberdrola-controlled plant and equipment.
β Communicate closely with 400kV Electrical Works Coordinators and Lead SAPs.
β Respond to emergencies, site outages, and changing circumstances.
β Perform other duties as appropriate to the role.
β Willingness to be based on a Service Operations Vessel (SOV) or Jack-up Vessel during rotations.
Knowledge and Skills
- HV Safe Systems of Work.
- Understanding of UK legislation related to high-voltage electrical asset operation and maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of UK HV electrical safety rules.
- Knowledge of HV equipment and maintenance practices, including HSG230.
- Experience working offshore.
β Strong commitment to safe working practices.
β Ability to operate and maintain various HV plant and equipment.
β Skilled in coordinating multiple activities while ensuring safety and quality.
β Problem-solving and analytical skills to develop solutions.
Experience
- Previous authorization as a 66 kV SAP.
- Experience working on offshore projects.
- Operation and maintenance of HV equipment.
- Fault finding on HV plant and equipment.
- HV plant and equipment commissioning.
- Basic HV protection testing.
- Experience with Siemens 8VM1 Switchgear (desirable).
Qualifications
- Full UK driving license.
- Previous SAP authorization under high-voltage electrical safety rules at 66 kV.
- NEBOSH/IOSH Managing Safely, CITB SMSTS, or equivalent qualification.
