• Position Overview

Senior leadership role with strategic and operational responsibility for the Compost Certification Scheme, Compostable Materials Certification Scheme (CMCS), the Biofertiliser Certification Scheme (BCS), and the associated Research Hub.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of specialists across certification management, policy and stakeholder relations, and research to maintain technical robustness, credibility, and alignment with standards and regulatory developments.
• Steer the strategic direction, governance and delivery of the schemes, ensuring they remain robust, trusted and aligned with REAL’s mission and organisational strategy.
• Work closely with the Managing Director to contribute to Board-level reporting, organisational strategy and to influence policy and engage with government, regulators, and industry bodies.

Qualifications

• Deep technical knowledge of organic materials, including composting and anaerobic digestion.
• Proven senior leadership experience in certification or related sectors.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and policy influence skills.
