Are you looking to launch your career at the heart of international climate diplomacy and domestic energy policy? This is a rare entry‑level opportunity to gain hands‑on exposure across two of the REA's highest‑priority workstreams during one of the most dynamic periods in UK energy history.
What You'll Be Doing
- You’ll split your time across two distinct portfolios. On the international side (60 %), you’ll support the REA's COP31 programme in Turkey — helping coordinate the REA Pavilion, managing event logistics, liaising with partner organisations, and drafting policy and communications materials.
- On the domestic side (40 %), you’ll provide policy and public affairs support to the Bioenergy and Heat team, covering parliamentary monitoring, member briefings, stakeholder engagement, and delivery of forums and Party Conference events.
- Supporting project management and logistics for COP31 engagement and pre‑COP events in London.
- Drafting articles, briefings, and policy updates across both portfolios.
- Liaising with external partners, stakeholders, and delivery organisations.
- Monitoring parliamentary and policy developments and summarising implications.
- Assisting with member forums and Party Conference event delivery.
About You
You're an organised, curious, and capable communicator with a genuine interest in energy and climate policy. You write clearly, pick up complex information quickly, and thrive in fast‑paced environments where no two days look the same. You have:
- Strong written communication skills and an eye for detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- A collaborative approach and confidence engaging with external stakeholders.
- Some understanding of UK policy‑making or parliamentary processes (desirable).
