Renew is a B2B SaaS, nature data and intelligence platform on a mission to drive large-scale nature recovery. We combine data, scientific expertise, and cutting-edge technology to create meaningful environmental impact. We have already delivered early products to our customers and are now expanding our customer base and further enhancing our platform and product suite. Our ambition is to reverse the current trend of nature degradation in the most nature-impacting sectors by ensuring the full value of nature and natural capital is factored into decisions around restoration funding, operational practices and supply chain management.

As we scale our SaaS platform and grow our customer base, we are looking for a diligent and proactive Bookkeeper to join us on a part-time, fully remote basis and help keep our financial foundations strong.

The Role

Working 2–3 days per week, you will take ownership of our day-to-day bookkeeping, ensuring our accounts are accurate, up to date, and compliant. You will work closely with our leadership team to ensure alignment between the finance function and the business strategy. This is a flexible, remote-first role suited to someone who is comfortable working independently and managing their own time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining accurate financial records using Xero
  • Processing accounts payable and receivable, including raising and chasing invoices
  • Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet items on a regular basis
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements
  • Managing payroll processing or liaising with an external payroll provider
  • Supporting month-end close procedures and producing management reports
  • Maintaining an organised and audit-ready filing system for financial documents
  • Liaising with our external accountant as required
  • Identifying and flagging any financial discrepancies or process improvements
  • Updating financial models e.g. Cash Flow, to ensure reporting is accurate

About You

  • Minimum 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally within a small to medium-sized business
  • Proficient in Xero - you know your way around the platform and can hit the ground running
  • Solid understanding of VAT, bank reconciliation, and management accounts
  • AAT qualified (or equivalent) - full or part qualification considered
  • High attention to detail with a methodical and organised approach
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing your own workload with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills - able to explain financial matters clearly to non-finance colleagues
  • A genuine interest in sustainability and alignment with Renew’s mission

Nice to Have

  • Experience working within a B2B SaaS or technology business
  • Familiarity with SaaS revenue recognition, a variety of revenue streams including deferred income
  • Interest in sustainability and environmental issues
  • Experience working with a growing or scaling startup
