Principal EDA Engineer

b Overview /b p Lead and’ shape the global engineering compute and design-data-management environment for Renesas’ semiconductor design efforts. You will blend hands-on CAD work with infrastructure stewardship, data management, and automation to scale design environments across distributed teams. Collaborate with engineering, CAD and IT to deliver scalable, standardized solutions that support IP lifecycle management and efficient design workflows. This role offers impact across tooling, processes and training, shaping how design data moves from legacy systems to modern platforms. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li competitive benefits package /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Provide technical leadership for engineering compute infrastructure and CAD environments. /li li Define and evolve Linux-based engineering environments; align with semiconductor design requirements. /li li Oversee Perforce Helix and IPLM-based data-management methodologies and integrations with EDA tools. /li li Develop standardized project/workspace environments and Cadence tooling configurations. /li li Create automation for environment setup and data-management workflows (Python/shell). /li li Lead migration of legacy data and environments to Perforce/IPLM-based systems. /li li Produce technical documentation, user guides, and training; offer expert escalation support. /li li Contribute to the technical roadmap for compute and design-data-management infrastructure. /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Significant experience in EDA/CAD engineering or semiconductor design infrastructure. /li li Strong Linux/Unix knowledge. /li li Experience with Perforce Helix or comparable enterprise version-control. /li li IP lifecycle-management experience (Methodics IPLM or equivalent). /li li Experience with semiconductor EDA workflows. /li li Strong Python and/or shell scripting skills. /li li Excellent troubleshooting and cross-organizational collaboration. /li li Strong documentation and technical communication skills. /li /ul ul li cross-functional collaboration /li li problem solving /li li communication /li li Perforce Helix (P4) /li li IPLM /li li Cadence tooling /li /ul
