Job Title: Guillotine Operator

Location: Huntingdon

Shift: Monday – Friday

Salary: £12ph

Job Summary: A Guillotine Operator is responsible for safely and accurately operating a guillotine cutting machine, cutting steel and aluminium. The operator ensures that the machine runs efficiently and produces high-quality cuts while adhering to safety guidelines and quality control standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Set up and adjust the guillotine machine for various cutting jobs, including configuring the blade, feed system, and guides.
2. Monitor machine performance during operation to ensure proper functioning and adjust settings as needed.
3. Load materials into the machine, ensuring proper alignment for accurate cuts.
4. Follow detailed work orders and specifications to achieve precise measurements and quality standards.
5. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on the machine to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine operation, including blade maintenance, feed issues, or mechanical malfunctions.
7. Ensure workplace safety by following all operational and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
8. Inspect the finished cuts for quality, ensuring that the product meets customer specifications.
9. Record machine performance and production data for tracking and reporting purposes.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Previous experience operating a guillotine cutting machine or similar equipment is preferred.
2. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work orders.
4. Good attention to detail and focus on quality control.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
6. Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
7. Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in industrial settings.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to lift heavy materials.
2. Ability to stand for long periods and work in a manufacturing environment.
3. Manual dexterity for machine operation and maintenance tasks.
