Location: London 2 days a week / 3 days from home (hybrid)
Rendesco is the UK's leading heat pump and heat network business. We design, build, fund, own and operate heat networks and heat pump systems that help to decarbonise our homes. Our unique low cost and low carbon heat solutions make it possible for new-build developers, social housing providers and homeowners to switch away from gas quickly, affordably and at scale. We have an ambitious five year plan to become the UK's leading end-to-end low carbon heating platform - combining funded heat network ownership, market leading design and installation capability, a growing operations and maintenance business, and a proprietary technology stack including our own ground source heat pump, heat interface unit, smart controller and homeowner app. Decarbonisation should be easy, and at Rendesco, we make it effortless.
The role will report directly to the Finance Manager and have ultimate responsibility for month end close, preparation of board reporting packs and providing support for driving process improvement and efficiency. Your work will include:
- Ownership of monthly close process and reporting
- Prepare, maintain and analyse budget to actual reconciliations
- Calculation of long-term contract accounting and forecast cost to complete
- Prepare month-end board reporting, including sales pipeline and project reviews
- Preparation of VAT and CIS returns
- Ownership of the accounts receivable process, for our project milestone billing, and manage conversion to cash
- Maintain and where relevant reconcile asset registers, including site-based fixed assets, office equipment, tools, vehicles, and elements of inventory
- Preparation of quarterly consolidation and VAT returns for special purpose vehicles
- Preparation of statutory accounts under FRS 102 and involvement in statutory audit
- Participation in budgeting and forecasting
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority
- Other ad-hoc responsibilities where required
About you:
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (SUMIFS, XLOOKUP, SUMPRODUCT etc.)
- Industry experience, ideally gained within construction, technology or similar environment involving long-term contract accounting is preferred, but not essential
- Desire and passion to work in a high-growth company and the ability to adapt to changing business needs
- The ideal candidate would be a driven, curious and analytical individual, allowing them to thrive in a hybrid working environment
