Job Requirements
The ideal candidate for the Lead Rotary Driller role will have significant experience in land drilling, including experience with rotary and geothermal drilling operations.
The role will require someonethatisorganisedandwithgoodplanningskillstogetherwiththeself-structurerequired to work autonomously, and in a wider team.
Flexibilityandawillingnesstotravelareessentialrequirementsforthisrole, asisthedesiretowork long shifts and often stay away from home in company-provided accommodation.
Thesuccessfulcandidatewillneedtopassdrugandalcoholscreeningandbecapableof passing both a safety critical medical, and DBS checks.

- Operation of drilling rigs (Comacchio GEO602, 900 and 909GT) and related equipment to drill geothermal boreholes on land-based sites, to depths in excess of 200m.
- Operationofmudcleaning/recyclingequipmentanddeploymentofasite-specificmud programme to allow the efficient, clean drilling of closed-loop GSHP boreholes.
- Installationofclosed-loopheatcollectorsinverticalandinclinedboreholes, groutingand completion per design specification.
- Interpretdrillingplansandgeologicaldatatooptimiseloopplacementand BHdepth.
- Maintaindailydrillingrecords, includingdepth, drillingconditions, andequipmentuse.
- Complete QA/QCtestingoninstalledloopsandensuregoodrecordsarekept.
- Ensuredrillingactivitiescomplywithenvironmental, health, andsafetyregulations.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance; troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform basic field repairs.
