The Role

We’re looking for a proactive, commercially minded and detail-oriented Buyer to join our growing team. You'll manage procurement and supply chain activities across our projects, ensuring materials, plant and equipment are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively and delivered on time. Working closely with internal teams and suppliers, you'll play a key role in supporting project delivery while helping to improve procurement processes and supply chain performance.

  • Procure materials, plant and equipment in line with project schedules.
  • Review take-offs and collaborate with Projects and Installations teams to ensure accurate purchasing.
  • Obtain and assess supplier quotations, ensuring pricing aligns with agreed rates and contracts.
  • Build strong supplier relationships, negotiate commercial terms and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage tenders, framework agreements and supplier performance.
  • Coordinate logistics and site deliveries to ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Raise purchase orders, maintain procurement systems and support budget reporting.
  • Provide pricing feedback to Sales teams and drive continuous improvement across procurement activities.

About you

  • Proven procurement or supply chain experience within construction or a related sector.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confident negotiator with excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Commercially minded, proactive and solutions-focused.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Comfortable using procurement systems and managing documentation accurately.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Construction, Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • MCIPS qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Minimum 4 years' procurement or supply chain experience.
  • Experience working with construction suppliers is essential.
  • Mechanical and Electrical procurement experience would be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, tendering, supplier management and contract negotiation.
