The role:
- We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Commissioning Engineer to join our growing team. Working closely with another Commissioning Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance of our low-carbon heat pump systems.
- Your work will include:
- Completing the final wiring and setup of heat pump systems, including circulation pumps and associated plant, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
- Conducting rigorous quality control checks and reviewing documentation to guarantee system integrity and compliance.
- Assisting in the commissioning process for heat pumps and systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet intended performance criteria.
- Collaborating closely with installation teams, electricians, and other stakeholders to coordinate and streamline commissioning.
- Addressing and resolving technical issues that arise during commissioning, implementing solutions to optimise system performance.
- Recording all installation/commissioning activities in appropriate certification forms and in SimPRO (our scheduling and QAQC system).
- Committing to on-the-job and formal training, sharing knowledge with the wider Rendesco team.
- Supporting the development of future members of the Installations team as you grow in your career.
About you:
- Demonstrable professional electrical experience primarily in commercial installations.
- Comprehensive understanding and experience in electrical wiring, safety standards, and BS7671 regulations.
- Proficiency in testing to BS2391 and a strong technical understanding of various heating systems and plant, controls, and both three-phase and single-phase power.
- A basic understanding of the principles of refrigeration systems.
- Demonstrated experience in the commissioning of complex systems 50kW plus, with a focus on quality control and system optimisation, including domestic heat pump systems under 50kW.
- Proven ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, with a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
Qualifications and desired skills:
- NVQ level 3 in building services or HVAC sector.
- Completion of the 18th Edition. Update to wiring regulations would be beneficial but not required.
