The ideal candidate must be able to travel to our exciting nationwide projects; expenses paid. This is a nationwide role, however candidates from the Southwest of England would be suitably positioned to access our current projects and offices in London & Maidenhead.

The role Rendesco is looking to hire an experienced Pipe Layer to join our Installation Engineering Team and support the delivery of our growing portfolio of geothermal heat network projects nationwide. This is a site-based, hands-on role focused on the installation of key infrastructure for our 4th and 5th generation heating networks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Installation of HDPE and pre-insulated pipework (PIP) mains and headers across developer and project sites.
  • Electrofusion and butt fusion welding of HDPE and PIP systems.
  • Working safely within trenches around existing utilities and services.
  • Pressure testing, flow testing and flushing of installed pipework.
  • Working from technical drawings and site plans.
  • Collaborating with Installation Supervisors, Engineers and Project Managers to deliver high-quality installations.
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety and workmanship on site.
  • Identifying and resolving installation issues as part of the wider engineering team.

About you

  • Experience in HDPE pipe installation, utilities, water, district heating, renewable energy, groundworks or similar infrastructure projects.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with a proactive approach to work.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safe working practices.

Qualifications and desired skills

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Engineering, Plumbing, Utilities or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • CABWI Level 2 in Network Construction Operations (WaterSelf Lay) desirable.
  • EUSR qualification (or equivalent) in Electrofusion and Butt Fusion Welding.
  • CSCS Card (relevant category).
  • EUSR Water qualification desirable.
  • Manual Handling and First Aid qualifications desirable.
