Position: Senior Portfolio Accountant / Team Leader
Location: Hybrid - London/Vauxhall (SW8), twice a week
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30
Contract: 12 Month FTC

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Lead by example, promoting Rendall & Rittner policies, procedures, and values.
- Manage and mentor the office-based portfolio accounting team, ensuring performance and compliance.
- Foster an environment of learning, continuous improvement, and maximisation of team performance.
- Make high-level decisions, exercising judgement to deliver effective solutions.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, employees, residents, and clients.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
- Champion excellent customer service and continuous improvement across the team.
Team Accountabilities:
- Maintain accurate, compliant accounting records across property portfolios.
- Prepare Profit & Loss accounts, Balance Sheets, statutory accounts, and other financial reports.
- Lead audits, liaising with external auditors and supporting statutory filings.
- Monitor cash flow, manage creditors, and oversee budgeting and forecasting.
- Manage service charge accounting, including reconciliations and tenant charges.
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues and assist property managers with financial queries.
- Maintain and optimise accounting systems and advanced Excel tools for reporting.
- Review handover information from previous agents and set up new clients on systems.
- Interpret company policies, procedures, and legislation, providing clear advice.
Previous Experience Will Include:
- Recognised accounting qualification or part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA, AAT) or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience in an accounting role within the property sector.
- Substantial supervisory or managerial experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong IT and numeracy skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Experience using accounting systems; familiarity with PropMan is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, and prepare complex reports and plans.
