Position: Development Manager
Location: Chiltern Court, St Barnabas Road, Reading, RG4 8RR
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 0900 - 1300 (we can accommodate earlier / later start times)
Salary: Β£15000 - Β£16000 per annum
Contract: A permanent position

Development Details
Chiltern Court is a well-established residential development located on St. Barnabas Road in Emmer Green, Reading (RG4 8RR). It is a retirement housing complex built in the late 1980s, comprising around 30 leasehold flats designed for residents aged 55 and over. The development is set around attractive communal gardens with residents' and visitors' parking, and benefits from onsite management and alarm services, accessibility features such as stair lifts, and peaceful surroundings close to local shops and bus services.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- Provide exceptional customer service to the residents, guests and visitors by being attentive, visible and interactive. You will conduct site walkarounds, ensuring you take the time to meet/greet and communicate with residents.
- Act as the main point of contact for residents and visitors, ensuring all enquiries and issues are handled promptly and professionally.
- You will hold and support in the coordination of community engagement activities such as summer garden parties, Christmas party etc.
- Supervising contractors that attend the site, ensuring appropriate RAMS, permits to works.
- Ensure all grounds and communal areas are well maintained, safe, and compliant from a Health and Safety perspective, including keeping pathways clear of snow and ice.
- Support residents with liaising with third party contractors for their homes as required.
- Manage site petty cash transactions, ensuring records and supporting documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Support the Property Manager with budgeting, reporting, and financial management requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the Residents Association Committee to promote continuous improvement and enhance resident engagement.
- Monitor the fire alarm system daily. Carry out weekly testing of fire alarm and resident careline systems in accordance with relevant procedures and complete online reports for compliance purposes.
- Attend meetings as and when required.
- Monitor the Quooda Compliance system to ensure all mandatory items are completed with support from the Property Manager where required.
