About the role
We are currently building a dedicated, long-term Field Service Team to handle installation, commissioning, shutdowns, maintenance, and replacement activities for gas turbines, steam turbines and turbocompressors. This team will be actively deployed on an ongoing basis across our global projects—including in the Middle East, Asia, North, Central, and South America, and Europe—to support critical operations in diverse and dynamic environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead and perform on-site installation, commissioning, routine maintenance, and major/minor inspections (e.g., Combustion, Hot Gas Path, and Major outages) on GE gas turbines and compressors;
- Diagnose complex mechanical, fluid, and operational issues;
- Utilize technical manuals, drawings, and diagnostic tools to determine root causes and implement effective solutions;
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to craft labor, sub-contractors, and client personnel during outage execution;
- Perform precision measurements, borescope inspections, and laser alignments;
- Prepare comprehensive, timely, and highly detailed field service reports, documenting all findings, actions taken, and recommendations for the client;
- Assist in outage planning, including defining scope, determining tooling requirements, identifying spare parts, and estimating labor needs;
- Strictly adhere to, and enforce, all company and customer Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols;
- Lead daily toolbox talks and complete Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) prior to commencing work;
- Act as the face of Company on site;
- Advise customers on best practices for equipment operation, maintenance schedules, and performance optimization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline. (Significant, direct field experience may be substituted for formal education);
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer, Technical Advisor, or Millwright working specifically with heavy rotating equipment.
Required Skills
- Proven, hands‑on experience with GE Gas Turbines (e.g., Frame 5, 6, 7, 9, or LM series) and/or GE/Nuovo Pignone centrifugal compressors;
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and auxiliary systems related to turbines and compressors;
- Familiarity with GE turbine control systems (e.g., Speedtronic Mark V, VI, VIe) and vibration monitoring systems (e.g., Bently Nevada);
- Strong proficiency with borescope inspection equipment and reporting.
