Renault Trucks UK & Ireland, part of the Volvo Group, is seeking a passionate, motivated and certified Technical Trainer to deliver workshop based technical training courses to our Dealer Network. Based from Whetstone in Leicestershire with occasional UK, Ireland and International travel, this is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Trainer to join a global group where you can make a difference by delivering excellent learning and development to our technicians.

The salary is very competitive and will be between £42,000 and £50,000 reflecting the skills, experience, certificates and industry knowledge you will bring. There is also an annual bonus based on group performance.

What you will be doing:

  • Designing and delivering high quality courses to enhance the skills and knowledge of our technicians – this includes highly effective presentation materials as well as hands on tuition
  • Design, adapt and continually improve and adapt the training material, tools, and resources
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of the training with follow up embedment activities to support the technicians when back in their workshops
  • Working with the Training Academy Manager to overview the courses and possible gaps in training offered
  • Supporting the apprentices, dealers and customer training programmes by delivering at site when required
  • Working closely with other CDC specialists and headquarters in France regarding best practice and participating in ‘Train the Trainer’ sessions in France

  • Master Technician Level 4, with experience working in a dealer environment
  • Ideally CertEd or PGCE qualified, or willing to work towards
  • A strong technical background with HGV experience
  • Previous experience in technical training or coaching role
  • A1 Assessing qualification (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this
  • Experience with IT systems within modern workshop environments
  • Ability to design, adapt and improve training content
  • Confidence in presentations and training skills, both face to face and online delivery
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • Open to evolving technology and ways of working
