About Us
We are a high-performance Formula One Team driven by innovation, precision and passion. Our Vehicle Performance group plays a critical role in extracting every ounce of performance from our race car. As a Vehicle Performance Student Placement, you’ll be immersed in the heart of race engineering, simulation, and data-driven decision-making.
The Role
During your placement, you’ll support the team in analysing car behaviour, developing simulation tools, and contributing to race strategy and setup decisions. You’ll work closely with race engineers, performance analysts, and simulation specialists to help optimise the car’s performance across a range of conditions.
- Three roles exist in simulation setup optimisation, suspension and tyres.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in analysing telemetry and simulation data to understand car performance
- Support the development and validation of vehicle models and simulation tools
- Contribute to setup optimisation and race strategy analysis
- Help prepare performance reports for race weekends and test events
- Collaborate with other technical departments to ensure data consistency and insight sharing
What We’re Looking For
- Currently studying a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or Motorsport Engineering and looking for an industry placement as your penultimate year of university
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen interest in vehicle dynamics
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, and data analysis tools
- Understanding of simulation techniques and race engineering principles
- Passion for motorsport and a proactive, team-oriented mindset
- You must have the right to work in the UK as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role.
- Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre in September.
