Company ALPINE RACING LIMITED Job Description Project Manager Alpine F1 Team have multiple opportunities to join our growing Project Management Team. These roles will work with key stakeholders across the team to plan and deliver all projects related to our exciting F1 programme. This is a great opportunity to lead and take ownership for project delivery, supported by the rest of the project management team. We are looking for individuals who are motivated to significantly contribute to our relentless pursuit of excellence - and ultimately a championship contending team.

Project Manager - The Role

Based at our facility in Enstone, this role will ensure planning and delivery of all projects related to the Formula 1 programme through leadership of planning and production meetings and enabling cross functional alignment. You will work with Senior Engineers and Production Managers to ensure project priorities are correctly aligned.

Key accountabilities are:

  • Plan and ensure delivery of Formula 1 projects agreed with Programme Managers in line with the high-level programme plans.
  • Line Management of Project Coordinators within Project team.
  • Author project plans for projects with in assigned car section.
  • Raise works orders, and cerate Ensemble tasks to ensure plans are enacted within Production and Technical areas in line with planning.
  • Communication throughout Engineering and Operations via planning meetings and ad-hoc comms to ensure alignment (including reporting daily status of Formula 1 projects).
  • Monitor delivery performance of stakeholders to agreed timing on projects and hold them accountable for slippage.
  • Work with stakeholders to recover or mitigate unavoidable slippage.
  • Work with Heads of Sections and Operations Managers to identify lead time improvements through design and all through Operations to deliver projects to events in less time.
  • ERP improvements to improve efficiency within operations (collaborate with Production Managers and IT teams).
  • Inventory management of stores stock related to Formula 1 programmes (car parts, off-car parts, tooling, prop parts etc).
  • Lifecycle management of parts and equipment in service with Race Team and other end-users.

Project Manager – The Person

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability with a drive for delivery
  • Able to manage, lead and influence others, providing direction and support as required
  • Positive attitude with good motivational skills
  • Able to provide ideas and suggestions on how to improve operation of the Programme Management department delivering direct car performance
  • Excellent communication skills across all stakeholders, with the ability to manage expectations
  • Confident, optimistic, team-player; self-aware and open to change.

In terms of your technical skills, you will:

  • Understanding of planning requirements in the context of Formula 1 car design and development.
  • Understanding of processes within Engineering and Operations functions to ensure effective information exchanges.
  • Able to identify and fix limitations and bottlenecks in department operations to improve efficiency
  • High level of planning and organisation to manage the priorities of development groups and be responsible for delivery of their projects on time.
  • Prince II Project Management or similar Project Management qualification is desirable but not essential
