Are you ready to accelerate your career with a dynamic and innovative F1 team? We are looking to expand our well-established team with a Junior Mathematical Modeller who is motivated to significantly contribute to our relentless pursuit of excellence. This position will play a crucial role in helping us push for podiums and race wins.

Your challenge:

You will play a key role in applying computational and mathematical methods to solve a wide range of complex and engaging modelling and data analysis challenges across the company. Previous projects have included:

  • Providing real-time, data-driven support to Race Team engineers and drivers to optimise car setup and tyre usage for maximum performance
  • Determining optimal pit stop laps to enhance race strategy
  • Modelling aerodynamic forces in a five-dimensional space using noisy data
  • Automating the analysis of competitor GPS data to estimate engine power and other performance metrics

These problems span multiple engineering disciplines and often sit at the forefront of innovation. To tackle them, we employ a variety of advanced techniques, such as:

  • Bayesian Optimisation
  • Gaussian Processes
  • Monte Carlo Simulations
  • Reinforcement Learning

Who we want:

We are looking to enhance our talented team with an individual who is educated to degree level or equivalent within Engineering or a STEM subject. You will have a confident background within coding. It would be an advantage to have experience in Python or Matlab. We need someone who is self-motivated, analytical, and a pragmatic decision-maker capable of working with minimal supervision. We seek someone with a creative, innovative, and consistent approach to problem-solving.
