Composite Technician – Assembly

Company: ALPINE RACING LIMITED. Fixed Term Contract, night shift. Work in the well-established Composites department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out precise trimming, assembly and finishing of composite components to high quality, safety and production standards.
  • Trim composite components using hand tools, air tools and templates to meet tight tolerances.
  • Assemble parts using bonding techniques, adhesives and mechanical fasteners.
  • Interpret and follow technical drawings, lay‑up schedules and work instructions.
  • Conduct surface preparation, sanding, deburring and finishing operations.
  • Perform visual inspections and report any defects or non‑conformances.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and efficient work area.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a similar composites trim and assembly role.
  • High level of skill in using hand and power tools for precision work.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible and positive approach to achieving team and production targets.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider team across different shifts.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working area.
  • Organised and self‑motivated with a proactive attitude.

Desirable:

  • Experience in motorsport, aerospace or high‑performance manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of composite materials such as carbon fibre and glass fibre.
  • Familiarity with bonding techniques and adhesive systems.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
