Composite Technician – Assembly
Company: ALPINE RACING LIMITED. Fixed Term Contract, night shift. Work in the well-established Composites department.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out precise trimming, assembly and finishing of composite components to high quality, safety and production standards.
- Trim composite components using hand tools, air tools and templates to meet tight tolerances.
- Assemble parts using bonding techniques, adhesives and mechanical fasteners.
- Interpret and follow technical drawings, lay‑up schedules and work instructions.
- Conduct surface preparation, sanding, deburring and finishing operations.
- Perform visual inspections and report any defects or non‑conformances.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient work area.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Proven experience in a similar composites trim and assembly role.
- High level of skill in using hand and power tools for precision work.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexible and positive approach to achieving team and production targets.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a wider team across different shifts.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working area.
- Organised and self‑motivated with a proactive attitude.
Desirable:
- Experience in motorsport, aerospace or high‑performance manufacturing.
- Knowledge of composite materials such as carbon fibre and glass fibre.
- Familiarity with bonding techniques and adhesive systems.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
