This is an on-property position - EU citizenship and international experience (preferably in the leisure sector) is mandatory. We seek a dynamic sales professional for a beautiful beachfront 150+ room resort that is part of an international hotel management group. This stunning beachfront property located on the coastline of East Africa features elegantly appointed rooms and villas, restaurants and bars, and a golf course. The resort caters to discerning leisure and international travellers seeking a blend of relaxation, recreation, and refined luxury.
The Sr. Sales Manager must be an EU citizen with extensive international and European leisure market experience, as their primary focus will be on the resort's sales and business development strategy, focusing primarily on international leisure markets and European business segments. This is a hands-on, strategic leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, building strong global partnerships, and positioning the resort as a leading luxury destination in Africa. This position is based on property and requires regular travel in Europe and internationally. It is not a remote role.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic, results-oriented sales professional with extensive international experience in luxury resorts and hotels, particularly within Europe.
Candidate Profile- Minimum 6-8 years of progressive sales leadership experience in luxury or deluxe international hotels/resorts.
- Proven track record in European and international leisure markets.
- Strong background working within international hotel groups.
- Stable career history demonstrating commitment and long-term performance.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Hands-on leader with a proactive and strategic approach to sales.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Europe and globally.
- Knowledge of East African or similar emerging markets is an advantage.
- Must be single status due to role requirements and extensive travel.
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to maximize room, F&B, and ancillary revenue from international and European leisure markets.
- Lead, motivate, and manage the on-property sales team to achieve and exceed revenue and performance targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key international tour operators, travel agents, luxury consortia, and corporate partners.
- Represent the resort at major international trade shows, roadshows, and sales missions across Europe and other key markets.
- Work closely with the corporate sales and marketing teams to ensure alignment with brand standards and global initiatives.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and business performance to identify opportunities for growth.
- Develop strategic partnerships and promotions to drive brand visibility and guest acquisition.
- Prepare and manage the annual sales budget, forecasts, and reports in coordination with the General Manager and corporate office.
- Ensure consistent communication and collaboration with revenue management, marketing, and operations teams to optimize overall business performance.
