Active Citizens HLTA

Full-Time On-site
Renaissance Education

Are you passionate about inspiring young people through learning beyond the classroom? Renaissance Education is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) / Active Citizens Lead to deliver our bespoke Active Citizens Curriculum, providing enriching outdoor learning experiences, educational visits and community-based activities that help children develop confidence, independence and essential life skills.

Working closely with the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, teachers and Learning Support Assistants, you'll design and deliver engaging learning opportunities that extend beyond the traditional classroom. You'll lead off-site activities, educational visits and outdoor learning experiences, ensuring they are inclusive, safe and tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Through these experiences, you'll help pupils develop resilience, social skills, independence and a greater understanding of the world around them, while supporting their academic, personal and emotional development.

This is a unique leadership role that combines high-quality teaching support with curriculum development and educational enrichment. You'll work collaboratively with class teachers to raise achievement, lead learning when appropriate, manage risk assessments and educational visits, support colleagues, and ensure every activity reflects our therapeutic, child-centred approach. As a role model for pupils and staff alike, you'll help embed our values across the school while creating memorable learning experiences that inspire curiosity, confidence and lifelong learning.

We're looking for a creative, organised and proactive individual who enjoys working outdoors, building positive relationships and helping children discover their potential. In return, you'll join a supportive and ambitious organisation that values innovation, collaboration and continuous professional development, giving you the opportunity to shape an exciting curriculum that has a lasting impact on the lives of children and young people. If you're ready to combine education, adventure and therapeutic support to make a real difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.

In return, you will join a supportive and forward-thinking organisation that values its staff and invests in their development. You will have access to continuous professional development (CPD), regular professional growth opportunities, breakfast briefings, Monthly Perk Box rewards, relevant training and opportunities to share best practice as part of a collaborative team.

Successful applicants will be required to demonstrate their commitment to safeguarding and child-centred practice throughout the recruitment process and during their employment with Renaissance Education.
