As a Kitchen Assistant, you are an essential member of our catering team, playing a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and enhancing the dining experience for our residents. You will assist in the preparation and serving of nutritious and healthy meals, working closely with the kitchen team to cater to the preferences and dietary needs of our residents, including those with special dietary requirements.
Hours of Work: 35 per week
Your responsibilities will include setting up and clearing dining areas, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene in all kitchen, serving, and dining areas. You'll help keep the kitchen and equipment clean and ensure all safety and hygiene protocols are strictly followed. Additionally, you will engage with residents to build meaningful connections, supporting a hospitality-style approach to catering and helping to develop seasonal menus that promote choice and independence as core elements of their dining experience.
Requirements: An essential aspect of the role is upholding the values of People, Friendly, Passionate and Inclusion. To be successful in this role you will need to communicate effectively and work well as part of a team. You will have a good eye for detail and ideally, you will have experience in a similar environment and hold a Basic Food Hygiene certificate. You will have knowledge of the correct use of kitchen equipment as well as COSHH and HACCP regulations.
