About the role: We are seeking experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) with a strong managerial background and proven people management skills with technical background. This role blends technical leadership, project execution, and team management in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- People Management: Manage a team of 4–6 ML/AI engineers, providing mentorship, career development, and performance evaluations, 1:1s.
- Project Management: Oversee 4–5 concurrent engineering projects, project planning, documentation, stakeholder management, and coordination with cross-functional teams. Drive day-to-day task management, status updates, weekly reviews, and stand-up meetings.
- Contribute up to 20% - 10% hands-on coding, primarily in Python, to stay close to the technology and assist with complex problem-solving.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years’ experience delivering ML or data-driven software projects in industry, including planning, execution, and delivery.
- 2+ years’ experience managing end-to-end engineering projects; experience specifically with LLMs or NLP projects is a strong plus.
- Hands-on familiarity with contemporary ML and software engineering tools (Python, git, Docker); comfortable discussing technical tradeoffs.
- Experience with agile/scrum methodologies in software or ML-focused teams.
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities, including with non-technical audiences.
- Working proficiency in English; Spanish is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant technical discipline.
- Experience directly managing LLM, NLP, or generative AI projects.
- Familiarity with cloud ML workflows (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Exposure to quantum/quantum-inspired technologies or advanced model compression techniques.
