The Methodist Church is inviting applications for a JPIT Communications and Engagement Officer to support the work of the Joint Public Issues Team (JPIT), an ecumenical partnership working across the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches. About the JPIT Communications and Engagement Officer Role
The Communications and Engagement Officer will help the Joint Public Issues Team communicate important issues and encourage church members to engage with questions of justice and peace. The successful candidate will work on communications, engagement activities, resources and events designed to help people understand public policy issues and take meaningful action.
JPIT brings together the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches to work collectively on public issues. Its work involves listening, learning, praying, speaking and acting on matters affecting communities and society.

Key Responsibilities
The Communications and Engagement Officer will contribute to the development and delivery of communications and engagement activities across JPIT.
The position requires an organised approach to project management and the ability to create effective communications materials and resources. The officer will also support events and activities designed to encourage church members to engage with public issues.

Skills and Experience

Christian Occupational Requirement
There is an important eligibility requirement attached to this position.
The Methodist Church states that there is an occupational requirement for the successful candidate to be a committed Christian and a member in good standing of a member church of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI).
