Senior Product Designer – Pay Ecosystem. Senior Designers at Remote are highly experienced and masters of their end‑to‑end design craft. They autonomously own design for a dev team or feature area while supported by their larger team.
The payroll team helps build experiences that empower our customers to pay anyone, anywhere safely and compliantly. This is one of our most strategically important and high‑profile teams at Remote. Here you will be challenged with fascinating, complex and meaty challenges that require primary research, robust strategy, innovative concepts and simple but brilliant execution.
You’ll be working with a thriving cross‑discipline team of designers, developers, and PMs, and with a talented, close‑knit team of product designers who will inspire you and support your growth. The design team is a thriving and growing community of designers who are maturing Remote’s end‑to‑end design practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Influence strategy for your product team, identifying opportunities for impact in collaboration with stakeholders and cross‑functional peers.
- Apply the right research methodology at the right time, empathising with customer challenges and developing an intimate knowledge of the problem being solved.
- Leverage AI prototyping as a tool for exploring conceptual ideas, iterating with your cross‑functional peers and bringing ideas to life with functional flows.
- Craft high‑fidelity user interfaces with flair at velocity, expressing your maturity in interaction design and maintaining an exceptional bar for quality, while delivering at speed.
- Lead compelling vision initiatives for your team and domain, influencing and visualising the direction of travel and opportunities for innovation.
- Solve problems holistically with systems‑thinking, understanding the ripple effect of your design decisions and ensuring scalability, while avoiding unnecessary variation to our information architecture and experiences.
- Communicate persuasively, weaving storytelling narratives around your work to bring peers on the journey with you, while triaging their critique and feedback efficiently and effectively.
- Collaborate transparently in the open, proactively sharing your work with the wider organisation to solicit frequent feedback and identify opportunities for cross‑domain collaboration.
- Advocate usage of our design system Norma to its best advantage, understanding when to follow it strictly or deviate, improve and contribute back.
- Champion our experience principles by ensuring simplicity, usability, scalability and accessibility in all user experiences we deliver.
- Be an active member of our cross‑functional culture by advocating quality, shaping our ways of working and providing peer support, critique and feedback to others.
Qualifications
- Impressive portfolio of product design work demonstrating maturity across the end‑to‑end design process, delivering delightful, well‑crafted user interfaces with tangible impact on users.
- Persuasive communication skills that help you build strong narratives around your design work, provide direction and guidance to others, and collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders – fluent written and spoken English.
- Systems thinker who champions holistic thinking, comfortable in a high‑growth, fast‑paced environment, with a work history that demonstrates autonomous ownership of design for complex domains and/or multiple projects.
- Strong evidence of effective cross‑functional collaboration with product and engineering counterparts, building consensus and resolving debates to drive impactful outcomes.
- Engaged member of your design organization whose focus is on delivering quality user experiences and shaping design culture and ways of working.
- Preference for candidates with experience designing complex B2B SaaS solutions for industries like HRTech, FinTech, etc.
- Candidates that embody and demonstrate Remote’s core values.
- Experience working remotely is a plus.

Salary
Base salary range: $56,300 – $126,700 USD.
