We are a UK-based construction and property group looking for a highly capable Senior Financial Controller to take full ownership of our finance function. This role requires someone who can bring structure, accuracy, and reliable financial oversight across multiple companies, projects, and properties.
You will work directly with the Director and serve as the backbone of the finance department—ensuring strong cashflow management, clean accounts, and clear financial reporting. This is a hands-on senior position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage full bookkeeping and financial control across multiple companies and SPVs
- Oversee bank reconciliations, accounts receivable/payable, and supplier payments
- Handle VAT submissions, CIS requirements, and coordinate payroll
- Prepare and maintain a rolling 13-week cashflow forecast, updated weekly
- Produce monthly management accounts for each company
- Track project and property financial performance (actuals vs budgets)
- Maintain accurate director loan accounts and intercompany reconciliations
- Provide clear and timely financial information to support strategic decisions
- Ensure financial processes, documentation, and controls are consistently followed
- Highly organised, structured, and dependable
- Calm under pressure and comfortable with deadlines
- Takes complete ownership and accountability of the finance function

Proven senior finance, bookkeeping, or financial controller experience. Background in construction and/or property is highly preferred. Strong ability to manage multiple entities simultaneously. Excellent cashflow forecasting and financial planning skills. Solid knowledge of UK VAT and CIS regulations. Comfortable working closely with a hands-on founder/Director.
