The Medic is responsible for providing medical services in accordance with good medical practice and applicable rules and regulations. The Offshore Medic is primarily responsible for all aspects of health management and support, including Primary Care and Trauma Care. The Medic reports to the OIM on all medical cases that could affect the safety of the vessel or require mandatory reporting. Remote Medical International personnel have the responsibility to observe, respect and comply with client HSSEQ standards, including the client Management System and in particular, the work permit system. Remote Medical International personnel have an obligation to avoid or stop work that is unsafe.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- To provide primary and emergency care for all workers, including diagnosing and managing routine medical conditions and minor injuries.
- To supervise the physical and mental health of all crew on board.
- To discuss all significant medical cases with Topside Doctor and if necessary, summon emergency medical support and provide functional leadership to prepare personnel for evacuation in accordance with the rig’s Medical Emergency Response Plan (MERP).
- To provide follow up treatment in cases of injury and illness where evacuation is not required.
- To undertake accurate clinical assessment and examinations.
- To maintain up-to-date, accurate, individual medical records for all workers on Remote Medical International Medical Database.
- To report medical treatments in accordance with the requirements of the Client:
- Medical Treatment Cases (MTC)
- Restricted Work Cases (RWC)
- First Aid Cases (FAC)
- Lost Time Injury Cases (LTI)
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: 2 years of offshore experience
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: Medical License from home country or country where rig/vessel is working, BOSIET/HUET, HSE Offshore Medic Certificate, ENG1 Medical, AMLS, PHTLS.
