We are seeking two experienced and motivated Night Shift Hygiene Operative Team Leaders to join our client’s team. You will be responsible for leading a small team of hygiene operatives to ensure all cleaning activities are completed to the highest standards, supporting food safety, and maintaining compliance with the client company and customer requirements.

  • Carry out cleaning tasks as outlined in Cleaning Instruction Cards and work schedules.
  • Lead and support a team of hygiene operatives.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety and Food Safety procedures.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning of machinery and production areas.
  • Dismantle equipment for thorough deep cleaning.
  • Safely handle and work with cleaning chemicals.
  • Complete and maintain all required documentation and sign-offs.
  • Provide cover for holidays and absences.
  • Work closely with the Hygiene Manager and Hygiene Supervisor to drive continuous improvement and maintain high factory standards.

You will be self‑motivated and reliable, a strong team player with a proactive attitude, excellent attention to detail, and a conscientious approach. Proven track record of reliability and responsibility.

Previous experience leading a small team is preferred, though transferable leadership skills will be considered.

Shift pattern: 6:00 pm to 3:00 am, working four days on and four days off which will include weekends. The client is located outside Colchester, so transport will be required. This is a temporary to permanent position upon completion of the 8‑week probation period.
