We’re looking for a Data Governance Manager to lead and mature enterprise-wide data governance across a large-scale digital transformation programme. This role will establish frameworks, policies, and tooling to ensure high-quality, trusted, and compliant data across operational and customer platforms.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement the enterprise data governance framework, including policies, standards, and operating models.
- Lead data quality, metadata management, and data lineage initiatives across business domains (e.g. assets, customers, billing, operations).
- Own and drive adoption of data governance tooling, particularly Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC), including Data Catalog, Data Quality, and MDM components.
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to establish data ownership (data stewards, data owners) and governance processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR, industry-specific standards).
- Support digital transformation initiatives (cloud migration, smart metering, IoT platforms) by embedding governance into delivery.
- Define and track data quality KPIs, controls, and remediation processes.
- Lead governance forums, working groups, and stakeholder engagement across IT and business units.
Required Experience
- Proven experience in Data Governance leadership roles within large, complex organisations (utilities, energy, or regulated industries preferred).
- Strong hands-on experience with Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (or similar tools such as Collibra Data Intelligence Platform or Microsoft Purview).
- Demonstrated delivery of data governance frameworks (policies, stewardship models, glossaries, lineage).
- Experience with data quality management, MDM, and metadata management.
- Strong understanding of cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and modern data architectures.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in data (e.g. GDPR).
- Experience working within large transformation or data modernisation programmes.
- Knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery and data product thinking.
- Experience integrating governance into data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks).
- Certification in data governance frameworks (e.g. DAMA-DMBOK).
- Strong stakeholder management across technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to influence and drive cultural change around data ownership.
- Strategic thinking with hands-on delivery capability.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
