We’re looking for a Data Governance Manager to lead and mature enterprise-wide data governance across a large-scale digital transformation programme. This role will establish frameworks, policies, and tooling to ensure high-quality, trusted, and compliant data across operational and customer platforms.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement the enterprise data governance framework, including policies, standards, and operating models
- Lead data quality, metadata management, and data lineage initiatives across business domains (e.g. assets, customers, billing, operations)
- Own and drive adoption of data governance tooling, particularly Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC), including Data Catalog, Data Quality, and MDM components
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to establish data ownership (data stewards, data owners) and governance processes
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR, industry-specific standards)
- Support digital transformation initiatives (cloud migration, smart metering, IoT platforms) by embedding governance into delivery
- Define and track data quality KPIs, controls, and remediation processes
- Lead governance forums, working groups, and stakeholder engagement across IT and business units
Required Experience
- Proven experience in Data Governance leadership roles within large, complex organisations (utilities, energy, or regulated industries preferred)
- Strong hands-on experience with Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (or similar tools such as Collibra Data Intelligence Platform or Microsoft Purview)
- Demonstrated delivery of data governance frameworks (policies, stewardship models, glossaries, lineage)
- Experience with data quality management, MDM, and metadata management
- Strong understanding of cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and modern data architectures
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in data (e.g. GDPR)
- Experience working within large transformation or data modernisation programmes
- Knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL processes
- Familiarity with Agile delivery and data product thinking
- Experience integrating governance into data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks)
- Certification in data governance frameworks (e.g. DAMA-DMBOK)
- Strong stakeholder management across technical and non-technical teams
- Ability to influence and drive cultural change around data ownership
- Strategic thinking with hands-on delivery capability
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
