About the Role

This position is an individual contributor who supports the end-to-end data lifecycle by taking defined business problems and turning them into clean, validated data assets.

You will work under the guidance of a Senior Analyst and Manager to bridge the gap between "raw data" and "business answers." You are the engine of execution — someone who has mastered the technical basics and is now navigating the complexities of business requirements and cross-functional collaboration.

This is a 12‑Month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) role based in our London office (hybrid, 2‑3 days onsite per week).

  • You Will
  • Assist in workshops with business/compliance teams to document user requirements, business rules, and reporting requirements.
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries and source‑to‑target mapping documents to ensure everyone speaks the same "data language."
  • Map out existing business processes to identify where data is captured and where it is missing.
  • Write and optimise modular SQL queries to transform raw data into "analyst‑ready" tables.
  • Perform initial exploratory data analysis (EDA) to flag inconsistencies, null values, or outliers to Senior Analysts and Data Engineers.
  • Run the primary tests for User Acceptance Testing (UAT), comparing expected outcomes against newly built solutions.
  • Build and iterate on data visualizations (Tableau, Mode, Power BI, etc.) based on business requirements, established wireframes, and functional specs.
  • Monitor existing dashboards for performance issues or data freshness, troubleshooting and fixing logic errors as they arise.
  • You Have
  • 2–4 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a similar technical‑functional role.
  • Ability to take a structured task and identify the necessary logic, filters, and edge cases (e. g., how to handle partial months) independently.
  • Enthusiasm for using AI (LLMs) to speed up SQL writing, debug code, and draft initial documentation templates.
  • Strong SQL and/or Python or R skills; ability to manipulate and handle large volumes of data, work across data from disparate sources and environments, perform data transformation with ease, and debug others' code with minimal guidance.
  • Demonstrated experience building and publishing reports using modern BI tools; experience with Tableau, Mode, or Power BI strongly preferred.
  • Clear and concise written communication, being able to explain a data discrepancy to a stakeholder without overwhelming them with technical jargon.
  • Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts (Star Schema, Fact vs. Dimension tables).
