This position is an individual contributor who supports the end-to-end data lifecycle by taking defined business problems and turning them into clean, validated data assets. You will work under the guidance of a Senior Analyst and Manager to bridge the gap between raw data and business answers. You are the engine of execution—a person who has mastered the technical basics and is now navigating the complexities of business requirements and cross‑functional collaboration. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract role based in our London office (hybrid, 2–3 days onsite per week).

You Will

  • Assist in workshops with business and compliance teams to document user requirements, business rules, and reporting requirements.
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries and source‑to‑target mapping documents to ensure everyone speaks the same "data language".
  • Map out existing business processes to identify where data is captured and where it is missing.
  • Write and optimise modular SQL queries to transform raw data into analyst‑ready tables.
  • Perform initial exploratory data analysis (EDA) to flag inconsistencies, null values, or outliers to the Senior Analysts and Data Engineers.
  • Run the primary tests for user acceptance testing (UAT), comparing expected outcomes against newly built solutions.
  • Build and iterate on data visualisations (Tableau, Mode, PowerBI, etc.) based on business requirements, established wireframes, and functional specs.
  • Monitor existing dashboards for performance issues or data freshness, troubleshooting and fixing logic errors as they arise.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a similar technical‑functional role.
  • Ability to take a structured task and identify the necessary logic, filters, and edge cases independently.
  • Enthusiasm for using AI (LLMs) to speed up SQL writing, debug code, and draft initial documentation templates.
  • Strong SQL and/or Python or R skills; ability to manipulate and handle large volumes of data, work across data from disparate sources and environments, perform data transformation with ease, and debug others' code with minimal guidance.
  • Demonstrated experience building and publishing reports using modern BI tools; experience with Tableau, Mode, or PowerBI strongly preferred.
  • Clear and concise written communication, being able to explain a data discrepancy to a stakeholder without overwhelming them with technical jargon.
  • Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts (Star Schema, Fact vs. Dimension tables).
