Senior Program Manager – Payments
We are looking for a Senior Program Manager - Payments role within the Global Money Movement (GMM) team at Remitly.
The GMM team focuses on enabling new payment options and improving the existing payments experience for our customers sending from 30 countries to over 170 receiving countries.
You will report directly to the Group Program Manager for Payments, exerting direct influence over the product and financial partners' roadmap.
This hybrid role (2‑3 days a week) is based in our London office and has a global scope with a primary focus on EMEA and APAC markets.
Responsibilities
- Help define payments product strategy, roadmap, and build a prioritisation framework that captures relevant tradeoffs for the team while creating organisational alignment.
- Design, implement and manage programs and operational processes that help us scale within Remitly.
- Understand the payment ecosystem and Remitly’s platform end‑to‑end, the APIs in our systems and the dependencies, and use this knowledge to improve our payment systems.
- Identify inefficiencies in Remitly’s payments operating model and drive new solutions (including defining technical and operational requirements) to address them.
- Manage end‑to‑end project plans for new implementations, working with other stakeholders and financial partners to ensure delivery.
- Help to define and implement metrics to measure payments and partner health.
- Assist with incident resolution when needed, working with Engineering and Product teams to drive partner communications and escalations.

Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience in program management and/or payments business operations.
- 5+ years of payments experience in the merchant and/or payments provider side (e. g., PSP, acquirer, aggregator, etc.).
- Experience driving medium‑to‑large sized technical projects with external financial partners and cross‑functional internal stakeholders.
- Proficient in payment systems and architecture, comfortable engaging in technical discussions without delving excessively into intricate details, and able to drive conversations at a technical level.
- Strong program management skills with experience taking initiatives from conception to launch and managing end‑to‑end execution of projects.
- Basic to intermediate SQL skill.
- Experience working with product and engineers to make tough technical tradeoffs and able to sweat the details to understand the impacts of these tradeoffs and find a careful balance between short‑term outcomes and long‑term effects.
