Summary and Main Purpose:
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Technical Trainer & Business Development Manager to join our growing team in Scotland. This unique role blends technical delivery and business development: you will plan, deliver and assess commercial courses, e.g. training up to Level 4 Electric Vehicle, F-GAS to Remit’s clients, while also developing new business relationships and expanding Remit’s commercial training footprint across Scotland. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable in a training workshop or classroom delivering exceptional learning experiences, consulting with employers, and generating new commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Delivery:- Deliver high-quality, engaging Electric Vehicle training programmes (Levels 1-4) to commercial clients.
- Develop and maintain blended and face-to-face learning resources aligned to IMI standards.
- Conduct assessments, invigilation, marking, and feedback in line with Remit procedures.
- Maintain technical competence through ongoing CPD and stay up to date with emerging EV technologies.
- Ensure all training delivery meets compliance, quality assurance, and health & safety standards.
- Identify, engage, and build relationships with employers and industry partners across Scotland.
- Promote Remit’s EV and wider commercial training portfolio to new and existing clients.
- Generate and convert leads through networking, cold calls, field sales, and client presentations.
- Conduct training needs analysis to tailor solutions that meet client workforce development goals.
- Manage and grow accounts, ensuring repeat and referral business through excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery and client satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate CRM and reporting to monitor pipeline and sales performance.
- Uphold Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity, and Health & Safety standards at all times.
Key Requirements:
Essential:- Qualified EV Level 4 Technician (IMI or equivalent).
- Proven experience in training delivery or technical education within the automotive sector.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Excellent organisation, time management, and self-motivation.
- Teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of funded training programmes and apprenticeship frameworks.
- Experience in developing and delivering technical EV content for commercial audiences.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in business development or commercial sales, ideally within training or apprenticeships.
