Key Accountabilities
- To become proficient in the application and use of a wide range of machine tools.
- Use of machinery under direct supervision and following completion of relevant safety instruction.
- Carry out tasks and duties as directed by the nominated GSE Technician or Workshop Supervisor to contribute to the requisite levels of performance and competence.
- Request parts using SAP application.
- Maintain work bays and surrounding areas in a clean and tidy condition as instructed.
- Ensure that special tools and equipment are kept in good order and that problems/defective items are immediately reported to the nominated GSE Technician or Workshop Supervisor.
- Ensure all work undertaken is passed as satisfactory on the completion of each job by a qualified staff member.
- Complete electronic Job card/inspection correctly to current point of repair and present to the Workshop Supervisor at the end of each shift.
- All non-productive time added to the correct job card for authorisation by the Workshop Supervisor.
- Periodic servicing of vehicles and machines under the direct supervision of the nominated GSE Technician or Workshop Supervisor.
- Accurate preparation/completion of general workshop administration related paperwork.
- Fully complete all electronic service and inspection jobs correctly.
- During Apprenticeship Training, where additional areas are covered both at college and on-the-job, duties to be undertaken will be increased in complexity.
Training to be Provided
Training is delivered in the workplace and on block release to Remit's Automotive Academy in Derby. There are a total of 16 x 1 week blocks over the 32 month programme. The costs of hotel accommodation, food and travel are met by the employer and there will be no cost to you. You will also receive 1-2-1 support from your Development Coach to help you achieve: IMI Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Duration.
