As an Autocare Apprentice, you will carry out a range of services and repairs to cars and light goods vehicles. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will gain technical, retail, and customer service skills, setting you up for a rewarding career in the automotive industry.

What will you be doing?

  1. You will work alongside a qualified technician/mentor to develop skills in:
  2. Inspection, removal, and repair of tyres, exhausts, shock absorbers, brakes, filters, and batteries
  3. Completing Digital Vehicle Health Checks for all customer vehicles
  4. Performing vehicle safety inspections and routine maintenance
  5. Providing excellent customer service by interacting with customers, explaining repairs, and assisting colleagues and clients
  6. Maintaining high health and safety standards within the workshop, ensuring compliance with regulations

Training to be Provided

This is an Autocare Technician Apprenticeship programme, delivered by Remit Group.

Awarding Body: Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI)

Training is delivered in the workplace and on block release at the Remit Automotive Academy in Derby. This involves staying in a hotel for 12 separate weeks (Monday to Friday) during the programme. All training costs are covered by the employer, and there is no cost to you.

You will also be assigned a dedicated Development Coach who will visit you every 4-6 weeks, either in the workplace or remotely via Microsoft Teams, providing 1-2-1 advice and guidance to help you achieve the IMI qualifications:
